Elayna 13 Months Old

Elayna you are a very busy child. You love to play and eat. Walking, climbing and trying to run are the three things you love to do. You hold your hands/arms for balance. Elayna you follow Lilia around and want to do what she does. You look for Lilia when she is napping. We love you so much. You have a high pitch scream you use when things are not going your way. We will work on the scream. You are very much loved and have many friends. Everyone at church wants a smile from you.

Outside...Learning with Chalk

We headed outside today and the weather was awesome. Sunshine is always wecome. It was 77 degrees in our house. Outside was a little cooler. Elayna found a worm. Lilia was fascinated but not touching or getting close to it. Elayna would have smashed the worm if I let her. We put it back in the grass. Lilia used chalk and drew on the road. Elayna tried to eat the chalk. Had to taste it. Lilia practiced what to do if a car came down our street. I say "car" and she goes to the tree in our yard. I get Elayna, not her. Not a lot of cars on our street but it is good to practice. The mail lady came and Lilia knew what to do. She went right to the tree when I said "car". After Lilia tired of playing with the chalk we kicked the ball and I ran after Elayna who loves to walk down the street. I then drew shapes on the road and had Lilia find the shape I called out. She knows hard ones...oval and diamond. We talked about shadows. Lilia knew what a shadow was from the Peter Pan movie. When we came inside we washed up and had water to drink. We were thirsty. I think I wore them out. They are going to sleep great tonight.

Lilia 35 Months Old

Lilia you are amazing. We can not believe you are almost 3 years old. You love to dance for us and give a bow/curtsie. We clap and you give us many encores.  You love your swimming lessons. Before you jump into the pool you say "supper swimmer" and you love the water. You sink to the bottom and then swim up. You love having your own notes and lists just like mommy. You take care of your sister and play with her. You are a great big sister. You cook with mommy and love to make bread, tortillas, brownies, cup cakes and lick the bowl when mommy let's you. You love princess dresses with full skirts. You are wearing 3-4T and size 7-8 shoe. You are potty trained except at nap and night time. You are talking all the time and tell us what is on your mind. We love you Lilia!

Wheat Thin Crackers

Here are my home made wheat thin crackers.
I changed the recipe a little.

I used soaked wheat that I then dried. Not necessary.

In blender mix till smooth:
1 1/2 Cups of whole wheat kernels
1 Cup warm water
1/3 Cup oil (olive oil and coconut oil)
3/4 tsp salt
I added garlic powder, oregano and basil.

In another bowl:
1 1/2 Cup white flour

Pour and scrape out the mixture in the blender and dump into the bowl with the white flour. Make a dough. Roll on an ungreased cookie sheet. Score and the pricked with fork to make crackers. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until golden and crisp.

This recipe comes from, Essentials of Home Production & Storage.

This little "Spot" is playing a tune!

Elayna loves music. She finds the piano every day in her wanderings about the house. She usually has to share with Lilia but not today. Lilia was out with daddy running errands. Elayna had a great time playing. I got her down when she stood up on the piano bench. She is quick! I love the looks on her face.

Yummy! Chocolate Pudding

Lilia loves her chocolate pudding. This is the recipe I posted previously using avacado.  I made two batches and froze the first one. This is going to be a treat for us.  I can't wait for avacados to go on sale.

My First PJ Sandwich

This is one of the first peanut butter and peach jam sandwiches. Elayna loves them to eat them. Now, I just need to convince Lilia that they are yummy.

My Day...I am so blessed!

Some days are really long...but I try and love them. They are growing up fast. Elayna can climb onto Lilia's bed and loves being a big girl. Then Elayna loves getting food all over when she eats. Lilia went to the potty all by herself. I found her on the toilet reading to Elayna. I think I was doing dishes. We had a pretend tea party. Lilia is learning to include Elayna even when she makes a mess. This is what Elayna looks like when she wakes from a nap. I try and keep clip or rubber band in her hair but they come out for nap so she can not swallow them. We stopped by to see grandparents and Elayna loves to be in the middle of things. Lilia was watching a movie with grandma (not pictured). When we got home Lilia tucked daddy in bed and covered him with her blankies. This is what most days look like at our house.
