Mommy's Bow

My mom made this bow for me. I wore this in my hair. Saved it all these years for my girls to wear. Lilia loved it! 

Back to School Night for Lilia

We had a great time at school.  Sat in Lilia's chair. Her teacher had lots of things for us to read and information.  We got to see Lilia's work. "Who Am I?" I figured out which one was Lilia's.  She wants long hair. She wants to read books. We love her long pink hair in her picture.

Every morning Lilia is up at 7 a.m . and gets dressed. She then feeds the dog. We eat breakfast and drink lots of water. Daddy reads Book of Mormon. She is not drinking enough at school. We have family prayer. Daddy heads to work and we wave goodbye. We then have a reading lesson. She then goes potty and brushes her teeth. While on potty Lilia reads a magazine--High Five or The Friend. She makes me laugh, sitting their "reading". We then take her to school.  She rides the bus home. We are waiting for her. She loves riding the bus. I did not like riding the bus.

Ballet Class

Girls are loving their ballet class. Elayna loves copying her sister's moves.

Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons!!!

A friend told me about this book.  I have purchased other reading books and read through them and have the one my mother taught me to read with but never stuck with it long enough with Lilia.  I purchased the book used and love it so far.  I had to wait for it to ship and so I found it at the library and read through the introduction.   Loved it!  We are on lesson 13 and Lilia is reading!  It only takes 10 to 15 minutes of time and it is working.  Very pleased with the book.  I will start Elayna on it soon and see how she does as well.  One of the things I like about the book is that everything you need is in the book.  No cutting, preparing cards or anything. The lessons build upon each other.  They tell you exactly what to say and look for when correction is needed. Phonics based and teaches the concept of reading.

Best part is Lilia loves the fact she is reading!!!

All About Me: Lilia

Lilia is loving school a lot.  Her teacher is great.  Today she rode the bus home for the first time. She loved it.  Our neighbor's daughter watched out for her and was so happy she was on the bus with her.  Bus dropped her off right at my house.

The teacher sent home an assignment.  All About Me Bag

She could bring in a photo or drawing of different things about her.  She got to explain to the class the pictures and toys etc.

Here is what she had in her bag:

Baby Picture.  She talked about how I got to feed her and give her a bath.

Dancing is what she loves to do and be on the stage.

Doll she plays with and has to share.

Oreo cookies.  

Family picture.  She loves her family. Sister Elayna, Mommy and Daddy. Talked about the temple and being sealed.  I asked her if she really did talk about this and she said, "yes". She amazes me!

Cousins

We had a great time with cousins and family.  

Lilia's First Full Day of School

Here she goes. She got her lunch out and backpack put away and went to her seat. Hugs and kisses and we left the room. Lilia was a little more somber.  Elayna said "hello" to the Principal as he directed traffic in a suit. He said "hello" back.

Mommy's New Do

Love my hair cut.  The girls were not sure about it being cut. They like it.

Lilia's First Day of School

Lilia's First Day of School was great.  We took pictures with daddy.  We said family prayer and read the Book of Mormon. Daddy headed to work.  Lilia was ready and played outside with Elayna on the swing set. A friend picked us up and we went to the school together.  We took pictures and we headed inside.  Her friend went to her class and Lilia kept on walking down the hall to her room.  She saw her teacher at the door.  We went inside.  Lilia found her seat and name tag.  She tried to head to the computer but her teacher redirected her to her seat to color.  She had a great morning.  Our neighbor Ella saw Lilia and said hello as well in the hallway.  Lilia ate all of her lunch.  She had peanut butter and honey sandwich, carrot sticks, chocolate chip cookie and water.  It was all gone.  She is growing up so fast.
Elayna and I went to the library to see about an ABC club for her.  She had fun on the computer and will like this club.  I will get to read in the library once a week and relax.
