Krispy Kreme

I remember my Dad bringing home doughnuts that were amazing--Krispy Kreme. I think my Dad would get a couple of dozen and then hide them so he could enjoy them later. I am starting to understand this thinking. I don't mean this as a slight against my Dad, just a fun memory. Asher surprised me and got doughnuts for us to enjoy. Thanks, Lovey you are the best! I can't remember who got the last of that doughnut.

What's for dinner?

Hmm, what do I want to cook for dinner? I go through this every time. Some nights are easier than others. I like trying new things.

CURRIED CHICKEN BAKE

1/2 c. cornmeal 1 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tsp. curry powder 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut up 1/4 c. butter, melted Combine cornmeal, brown sugar, curry powder. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brush each chicken piece with butter. Roll in cornmeal mix to coat. Arrange chicken skin side up and so pieces don't touch in shallow baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining corn mix. Bake uncovered in 375 degree oven for 50 minutes or until tender. Do not turn. 6 servings.

Here is a picture of the Curried Chicken Bake. It does not look very good but tasted great. It is similar to breaded chicken. The corn meal makes it crisp.




Asher made the Stir Fry. I love this stir fry. I like my vegetables to be crisp and they always are when Asher cooks.



I have a lot of fun trying new recipes but if the dish does not turn out how I see it in my head then I don't like the dish. Asher loved the dish and so I tried to change my thinking.

The Island Soap Way

I love this soap. I use it everyday. I have tried almost every kind she sells. Jonna and I know each other. Check out her website and buy some natural soap. She is supporting her husband and family because her husband had brain cancer. I grew up with her husband and he is a very good man. We are praying for them and hope the judge will order disability money to come to him. Since I had been thinking a lot about this I decided to write a post.

Student T-shirt

One of my awesome students wore a very interesting shirt. My brother always find great T-shirts to wear with fun sayings on them. I have seen a couple of fun sayings on some t-shirts at school. When I say something about the shirts the kids always have a big grin on their face.

I think the last reason is my favorite. I forgot to ask the student wearing this shirt if he knew what recycle meant.










I don't know if I like the "Lost Sister" shirt, being that I am a sister with three younger brothers. They would have fun wearing this t-shirt when we were much younger.

The Computer Lab

This is where I spend most of my time.

I love learning and a computer broadens the options of what can be taught. I use the internet a lot and we have gotten to go to some really far places. For instance, dig around in the soil and shrink down to see what it would be like to be smaller than a human hair, dissect owl pellets, build electronic circuits, and much more.

Of course an awesome book can take you to some really great places too. I love to read.

Love this Book!

I work next to the library at our school. I looked in and the librarian told me about the new things she had gotten. Oh, my! She got Knuffle Bunny. I love this book! If you have not read this book then go to the library and check it out!

Happy Belated Easter

We had a great Easter. What a beautiful day Sunday was. Asher's family has a tradition of painting easter eggs and sugar cookies. We always have a great time painting and eating.

Here is how to do it. Make sugar cookies. Egg and bunny shaped. We use egg yoke to make the paint. One egg yoke with 1 tablespoon of water. Mix and then divide into bowls. If you need more paint add another egg yoke and water. Add food coloring to the bowls till you get the color you want. We usually stay with the primary colors because making purple etc. can get really complicated. Put newspaper down so that it will not ruin the table if you spill. Pass out the plates and start coloring. When finished coloring the sugar cookie, bake for two more minutes in the oven. Now they are ready to eat.

I love coloring the sugar cookies and it is fun to see the different designs.
