Church Youth Trip-June 2008

I got the privilege of going with the youth (16-18 years old) on a church trip to Palmyra, NY and Kirtland, OH in June. What a great trip. Here are some of the pictures I took and some of my random thoughts.

This is in Kirtland. The youth were great. We had a good time touring. The youth were with the stake, the rest of us adults were all together.

Here are the Bishops. What a great group of men!

We asked the men to take a picture of us and they would not tell us when they were taking the picture. Hence, I have three pictures that are all crazy!

This is the group of youth I was with at the Palmyra Temple. It was a great experience. It was so peaceful and quiet and the view was so beautiful.

We got to go to the Sacred Grove. The youth were told to be quiet and reverent. They were to walk around, pray and read their scriptures. It was nice to stretch my legs and be still and enjoy nature. I now know a little bit of why Joseph Smith decided to pray in these woods.

I did not know this at the time but these are wild roses.

Here is the whole group of youth on top of the Hill Cumorah in NY. What a great trip. I took a lot of pictures but can not post them all.

I am very thankful that I was able to go and spend time with the youth and strengthen my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am thankful for my ancestors who traveled through these places and the trials they bore because of their testimonies. I hope to live up to the legacy they left me.
