Lilia's Favorite Books

Lilia loves to read these books or have me read them. We read before nap times and bed and sometimes just for fun. We always read one or all of these books. I try to mix others into the mix.
Why do I think she likes them?
•Peekaboo Morning by Rachel Isadora because there is a puppy in the book and she made the connection to her puppy. When we get to that page we stay for a while and she tells me about the puppy.
•Look Look! by Peter Linenthal because she likes the shapes and the black and white contrast.
•Where's Spot by Eric Hill because of the puppy and it has flaps that open.
•Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann because she does. I have not figured out this one. May be all the animals she likes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I put them in order as well of when they became her favorites.
Grocery Shopping and Couponning!
I do not like to shop for anything but food is a must. I am addicted to couponsing. I do not like to cut coupons, so I really did not see a point in doing it when I could go to Aldi and get things cheap. A friend showed me her system and I was hooked. This is what we got today at the grocery store. Should have cost me $ 57.60 but I paid only $30.66. This is not the best deal but I did get a few things not on sale (carrots) and did not have a coupon for all the sale items. Kroger and Publix did not have much I needed this week on sale. I still go to Aldi, just not as often.
Why did you put her on the table?
I sent this picture to Daddy and this is his way of making the situation lighter. It did help. He is just sad he missed the FUN. The fun part is she keeps going back to the table and trying again. I have repeated the discipline over and over. She is not getting the point. We will keep trying.
Laughing with Lilia
This last week Lilia has started to babble a lot. She uses her hands and moves them around when she talks. It is so much fun talking with her. The more interested and attention she gets the more she talks. She has a lot to say. Just wish I understood her!
Neighbors Rocking Chair and Front Porch Rocking
Lilia goes everywhere in our neighborhood. No boundaries for her. She found the neighbors rocking chair last week when we were visiting. It was not clean so Kathy would not let her sit in it. Kathy sat in it and put Lilia in her lap. Lilia loves John and Kathy and is very curious about what they do. She watches John do yard work. Today she went over to their house, climbed the stairs to the porch and went to the rocking chair. It is big for her so I got her in the seat. Our neighbors are great.
Grandma sent a package!
When I hear the UPS man pull up I hope he has something for me! Yep, today we got a surprise package from Grandma. She always sends interesting things! (I love it!) Lilia got a new toy and lots of other fun things.
14 Months Old
Lilia is 14 months old. We decided to take pictures in her PJ's. She still needs to learn the-- "smile for the camera" idea. I am sure that will come. She is so good to us. She loves being outside, playing in the tub or shower, giving kisses and hugs, reading her books, and unloading the dish washer. We love you so much! Oh, and she is babbling all the time. She definitely has something to say!
Biting
Lilia is definitely getting her top molars. We were outside playing and she loves the dandelion seed puffs. I showed her how to pick them and wave them around and the seeds go everywhere. She did this today and was having a great time. She still had the stem in her hand when she was swinging. Daddy was pushing her. She bit the head off the dandelion. Daddy went in to get it. Lilia bit him. He also felt her top molars coming in. Alas, she ate the top of the flower! You can eat them. They taste nasty.
Yesterday she was climbing onto the bench. Daddy had his arm outstretched so she would not fall. She leaned over and bit his finger. She bit my ankle while playing on the floor with me. Funniest part was she kept trying to bite my ankle even when I said not too! Today we were playing with this wind up toy that is a chick. She kept leaning over and biting the chicks head.
Unofficial Nursery Visit
Lilia and I were visiting another ward (a ward is a geographical area for our church). We knew the nursery leader and she agreed to take Lilia to class. Lilia loved nursery! Too bad we have to wait till the end of August. They had a lesson about Joseph Smith and the First Vision.
Mommy and Lilia
Mommy and Lilia were able to go outside while daddy was home for lunch. They are the most beautiful women in the world!! I wouldn't know what to do without them. Lilia just loves being outside. And we love being with her.
Azalea's
One of our neighbors has azalea bushes all around her yard. All year they look like regular bushes until they flower. I love them. They are beautiful and remind me of where I grew up. My Mom took pictures of us kids in front of the azalea's one year. They were as tall as us and blossoms everywhere. My two younger brothers were little and I remember them running around. Lilia was more interested in the rocks and running around as well.
Washing the Van
Yep, I drive a van. I drove a van in high school. Loved the fact that we could pick everyone up and go do something fun. As a youth these are some of my favorite memories. Getting together with friends and going to the park, movies, board games and going to the fair at midnight. My brother and I did everything together. Working together we were able to gain our parents trust and for the most part we stayed out of trouble. So, I drove my parents van as a teenager!
What a mess! Our van needed a good washing but I feel that did not happen but it got a quick wash. Lilia had a great time playing in the water, carrying the hose around and getting me wet. She did not understand the washing part. She did not want to come inside. I got her dry and changed her clothes. I wore her out with all the water fun. She is napping now.
Shower Baby!
Lilia loves the shower! This is the third time in the shower. She knows not to stand. This is her running away in her towel. She is so funny. Loves to be bare.
Lilia might have hit the picky food stage. She has not eaten much breakfast the last few days. Her teeth might be bothering her.
Today we are going to the farming store. May go to the post office as well. We try not to plan too many things in one day. Yesterday morning we went grocery shopping, then played the rest of the day. We made a nice dinner for family. The chicken fell off the bone. Yummy!
Playing the Piano with Mommy...well sort of...
Lilia does not like it when I play the piano with her. She takes my hand and moves it off the piano and places it on the bench. Makes me laugh. Then she continues to play the piano.
Saturday Honey Do List
This list is on going. Friday night we went to Home Depot and got the stuff to make my Square Foot Garden. Today we have helped daddy fix the roof, break down boxes for recycling, (Lilia and I played with chalk), daddy went to the recycle place, (Lilia took a nap), sharpen mower blades, (lilia and I ate lunch), mow the lawn, shopping and new earrings for Lilia. The earrings have backs that screw on. Aunt Annie kept Lilia busy at the jewelry store. Daddy spoils his girls.
We love Daddy! Thank you for working so hard for us!
Two dishes drop from the drying rack....
This is what I find. She is sitting on the bowl and the other is on her head. Do you think they are still clean?
A Short Story, A Long Day...
Cast iron and a baby's head equal a bump on the head, a call to Daddy, the Doctor and medicine. She is okay, now. The picture of her forehead was taken late afternoon and this happened after breakfast this morning. She is climbing everything and has no concern for her safety.
TN Iris
This is the first Iris we got. Smells really pretty as well. The lilies should bloom next. Lilia has no interest in the iris. Her teeth may be bothering her, molars.
Fire Hydrant
Lilia found the fire hydrant in the neighbors yard. She is not as tall as the hydrant. The city put a blue tag on the chain and she is inspecting it.
Walking Daddy
Lilia is spending time with Daddy while Mommy makes dinner. She loves walking him around and going where she wants to go. She likes the neighbors driveway because it is slanted. She works hard to get up the hill and then laughs all the way down. Makes me nervous. I love it when she reaches for your finger. I love how in the picture Daddy and Lilia are in step.
Chairs and Couches
Lilia can climb up on chairs and couches by herself. I have always gotten her down so far. I am trying to teach her the safe way down. She did get off the couch correctly! Yeah!
My Hat
Lilia ran off with my hat. She had a great time playing with it. Hard to get a picture of her wearing my hat because she took it off as fast as I put it on her head. She loves playing!
Treat from Daddy!
Daddy left a treat on his laptop for Lilia. We found the treat, a lollipop! What a beautiful mess she is! I put her in her high chair because sticky fingers were touching everything. Thank you Daddy!
