Our Favorite Flower

We went to a jewelry store before dinner and they gave Lilia a rose. She loves her flower. She had a great time playing in the kid toys while we looked around.

Lilia is 25 Months

Lilia you are 25 months today! We love you so much. You will not pose for the camera or sit still. Daddy had to take some quick pictures of you.

You are talking so much.  Sometimes it is a mystery because we are not sure what you are saying but you know what you are saying.  You want to say the prayer now and you are saying more and more words in the prayer and even offer your own suggestinos.  I will say "bless" and you will say, Daddy or Mommy or baby or Josh. You love taking showers, baths and playing in the water.  You color all the time and love to write.  You use your right hand most of the time but switch if it suits you.  You love playing and holding your little sister.  You can undress yourself and take your diaper off.  You can go to the bathroom on the potty when you want too.  You are getting better at telling us when you need to go to the bathroom.  You love going to the park and swinging and climbing everything.  You are not doing so well about sleeping in your own bed.  You think you are suppose to sleep in our bed and you have your favoirte spot.  We don't mind as long as you go to sleep!

Necklaces made from stamps. - Mod Podge Rocks!

http://www.modpodgerocksblog.com/2011/03/necklaces-made-from-stamps.html
I love this idea!
Okay, I was born in Japan so need to find out if my parents have any cool stamps from Japan. Husband served a two year mission in South Korea and I had grandparents who traveled all over the world! Oh, Asher's siblings keep traveling as well! I need to go look at a few post cards! I need to put a few requests in for stamps!

Grandpa and Lil's Walk

Yesterday we had the grandparents and Aunt Annie over for dinner. We had Thai Curry. It was okay but not my favorite. Lilia and Grandpa R went for a walk (Grandpa pushed Lilia in a stroller). They brought us (Mommy, Grandma R, and Annie) "popcorn" -- the blossoms from the bradford pear tree. They are so pretty. We have been singing Popcorn Popping when we see them in the car. :)

Elayna wearing her new Ear Rings

Today Elayna got her ears pierced. She did not cry much and not for very long. Aunt Annie came with us and held Lilia while they pierced Elayna's ears. I told Lilia baby(Elayna) would cry and that she would be okay. I love how her ear rings look and she seems fine. Elayna slept most of the way home. I love the picture of her yawning.

Lil's Hair Doo

Lil' sat still for me to fix her hair (watching Aladdin). She usually is moving around even when watching TV. She has soft hair. We will be getting her first trim soon.

Country Sisters!

I found an outfit for Elayna that matches Lilia's!

A Year of Slow Cooking: CrockPot Indian Chicken Recipe

I loved this recipe! Not as good as my sister in-laws recipe, just quicker to make. I did omit the yogurt because we don't eat any milk products and it still tasted great. I might try coconut milk next time instead of the yogurt.
Enjoy!

The Feeding Look

Elayna gets the cutes look of concentration when she eats. So cute. She drinks almost 4 oz every time she eats.

Outside Adventure: Part 2

Here is the second part of our outside adventure. Lilia has mastered climbing the slide. She loves going down the slide. Elayna was telling us she wanted to be pushed in the stroller. She fell asleep minutes later. We had a great adventure and enjoyed being outside.

Adventures Outside: Part 1

We headed outside after nap time. It was a warm 77 degrees and we had a great time. Lilia was every where! She love the little play ground we have and running. I was able to pull a few weeds. Elayna fussed for a little while when we stopped moving and then fell asleep. Here is Lilia swinging, looking at the popcorn tree, finding acorns and going down the slide.

Diana's Breakfast Cookies

These are from the "Life Spice" by Diana Chamness.  My room mate in college Tamara gave the recipe a couple of years ago after we visited her and she made them for us.  We love them so much!

1 1/2 Cups flour (I use whole wheat)
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
3/4 tsp. Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Egg
1 Cup Mashed Ripe Bananas (I have used pumpkin as well)
1 3/4 Cup Quick Rolled Oats (I have used regular as well)
6 oz pkg of Chocolate chips (I use dark chocolate), raisins, nuts, coconut, dates, anything else you like as long as the dough has room in the batter. (I also only put in the first 3 of the above add ons)
Combine all ingredients in a very large bowl. Drop by tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheet or make into bar cookies.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes (longer for bar cookies, cut while warm).  I made them into bar cookies but they crumbled. I like to freeze the extra dough in a log in wax paper and label for cookies later on when I want them.
We also nick named these fiber pellets because they are so healthy!

All Smiles!

Elayna is all smiles tonight! I love it when she smiles. She also loves running her fingers through her hair. She found one ear tonight. She loves to kick her feet and move her arms. She is very strong.

Oranges and Runny Nose

Lil' loves oranges! She has a runny nose! :( She is learning about tissues! Good thing I got a lot on sale recently! Hope she gets feeling better quick! Here I am loving on my sick girl.

Pacifier(s)

Lilia has decided that she "needs" a pacifier. I think this is just a new baby in the family thing. Lilia does not need it all the time but about 3 times during the day and only sucks on the pacifier for few minutes before she moves on to something else. Elayna loves her pacifier. My girls are so cute!
Side note: Lilia is wearing big girl panties.

Doctor Visit for Lilia and Elayna

Lilia for her two year doctor visit.
Height: 34 inches
Weight: 25.14 lbs
Head Cir: 19 inches
She only had one shot and went first. She cried but was great once I was able to hold her. She also had her finger pricked for iron and she did not cry or fuss at all. Lilia was concerned for baby Elayna when they gave her shots. She did not like to see her cry.

Resting

Elayna has slept a lot today. I think she is having a growth spurt!

Watercolor Painting

Lilia loves the color blue. She is learning her colors. She asked to paint tonight and knew where the supplies were kept. She repeated the following colors: black, blue, brown, green and orange. She loves to wash her brush in the cup.
