"Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we wanted them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come." Joseph F. Smith

Driving Already?!
Lilia loves playing on all the toys at Weez's house. Here she is driving. Backwards driving was what she learned first. She loves to bounce on the trampoline. We have to watch her because she climbs the ladder quickly! They have a net around to keep kids inside.

A Kiss for Daddy
Lilia gives kisses when she wants. Usually Daddy gets a kiss and then Mommy is left with none! She is so cute!

Almost Blue Eyes
My Mother has beautiful blue/green eyes. They are the color of the ocean. My youngest brother got her color eyes. I think this picture of me I almost catch a little bit of that blue/green. What do you think?
Now, if we could only get Lilia to stay still for a picture! This was taken in June 2010

Reading "Silly Goose"
I caught Lilia reading. I love when I find her reading all by herself. She really loves her books! We spend a lot of time reading together.

Our Little Flour!
Yep! I spelled that correctly! I ground up some wheat for some healthy cookies. Lilia found the flour and had a lot of fun!
I had these cookies with my friend Tamara when we were visiting for breakfast. Cookies for breakfast is the best! She was one of my roommates in college. She is a great cook and we enjoy staying with her family when we get the chance. I put my changes in this color.
DIANA’S BREAKFAST COOKIES by Diana Chamness’ book "Life Spice"
1 ½ C flour (Optional: Use ½ whole wheat) I use all whole wheat
1 C Sugar I use brown sugar
½ tsp. Baking soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
3/4 tsp. Cinnamon
3/4 C Shortening
1 Egg
1 C Mashed ripe bananas I use 3 frozen bananas defrosted
1 3/4 C Quick Rolled Oats
6 oz. pkg. Chocolate chips, also raisins, nuts, coconut, dates, anything else you like, as long as there’s room in the batter.
Combine all ingredients in a very large bowl. Drop by tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheet or make into bar cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes (longer for bar cookies, cut while warm.)
*We use all whole wheat flour. Have put in walnuts and pecans (we prefer pecans b/c they are sweet enough to provide the sweet without having to add the chocolate chips) and sometimes chocolate chips. Usually use a tsp dropper b/c we like the bite sized cookies. We also don’t measure the bananas, just guesstimate so the moisture content varies with each batch. Moisture might also be effected by the quality of whole wheat we are using. Some turn out very moist and flatten a little to the normal cookie size/shape, but they stick together in storage. Others turn out drier and don’t flatten at all but also never stick together. Baking for the cookies usually takes us about 17 to 20 min for us. While we do just dump all ingredients in together if using a powerful mixer, if doing it by hand or not powerful mixer, I recommend mixing the moist up first and then adding dry ingredients one or two at a time to ensure good mixing and to make it easier to mix.

Busy Fingers
Lilia climbs the piano bench easily and stops to play the piano during the day. She has been good so far to not stand on the bench or climb up on to the piano. We will see what happens in the future.

My Room and Closing Doors
Lilia decided to close her door to her room. She almost can open it on her own. Mommy came to the rescue when she needed out. She thought it was fun to shut me out and then open the door to see if I was still waiting. I was waiting!

Lilia runs everywhere and loves her shoes. She brings them to us and even tries to put them on herself.

Lilia loves to read!
Lilia gets anxious when she is done eating. When lunch was done, I got her down. Everyone knows when things get quiet, danger is lurking--especially with a little tornado!! But, what to my wondering eyes do I find? Lilia tucked away reading her fairy princess book! What a darling! Even she looks up like she's been caught.

Light Switch
Guess who knows how to turn the lights on and off? Grandma showed her how and then showed her how to move the stool so she could reach the light switch. Lilia remembers everything! Thanks Grandma! It is cute and does not bother me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last night we had lightening and rain. We were at the grandparents house. Grandpa sat Lilia next to him on the bench and dimmed the lights inside and watched the lightening. Lilia loved the show. It was great to see her sitting with Grandpa, all safe and calm. The thunder was loud but the light show was great and we need the rain.
Moods of the Day
Uncle Derek performed a "Moods of the Day" for us before his mission. Now, here is Lilia doing the same. I don't know if the audio will come through.
Summer Cold
This last week or more we have been fighting a cold. Lilia and Mommy feel a lot better. Poor Daddy is very tired! We hope to be better soon!
Pajama's
Lilia is wearing the pajama's Grandma H made for her. They are a little big still. This winter they will be perfect. She looks darling in them.
Silhouette of a Family
We took a walk today so we could get outside. It is not fun when the whole house is sick. Lilia is doing much better. It is mom and dad who are dragging. When she brings her shoes to you and then sits by the door you know she has won. The walk was great.
Rollers and Happy 4th of July
Lilia loves to play with my hair rollers. I put them in her hair. She wore them for a few minutes and pulled them out. This is her 4th of July outfit.
Happy 4th of July!
Blackberry Picking....... Eating
Last year she sat in her stroller and this year she was everywhere. She even picked her own and ate them. I had to watch and encourage her to get the black ones and not the red ones. She loved eating them. You can see her mouth is stained and her clothes. Yummy! Here is Grandma R and Louise (Melelani). She is clean because we have not started yet. Friends met us there and we had ice water and water melon for dessert after picking berries. This is a great tradition for the fourth of July. We also got peaches. Lilia loves peaches. She ate 1.5 peaches.
Going After the Ball!
Lilia was playing a game with a ball. She would roll it under the bed, lift the bed skirt, get the ball out. She never went in with her head, just arms. She did this over and over. So funny.
Slide and Swing
Lilia loves the slide. She climbs and goes down by herself. She is not afraid. After this picture I caught her standing at the top of the slide. She claps when she is done. She likes to swing. She would let go and then grab back on to the swing. She thinks she can do anything!
