Summer Reading

We decided to participate in our library Summer Reading program. We had a lot of fun. We read a lot all the time. I printed up the charts and signed us up.
The girls asked grandpa to read to them last night. The books were in Spanish. He read them a couple of books and more than one time!
We love going to the library. Ms. Katie is great with the kids and we love her story time. We earned 5 stars and so we got our books. Thank you for our books! We got a picture with Ms. Katie and our books.

Brushing Teeth

Getting these two girls to brush their teeth can be tough. Elayna usually screams. Lilia decided on her own to help Elayna brush her teeth and Elayna was okay with the help. Elayna pulled away a few times and Lilia calmly talked her back to brushing again. I was laughing inside and cautioning Lilia to be careful and be gentle. Lilia did a great job.

Summer Swimming

We have been swimming a lot this summer. I finally got some pictures.  We are blessed to have friends with pools, thank you. We go swimming at least once a week. Lilia loves swimming. I think a few parents at the pool were surprised Lilia could swim. I keep an eye on her though because she is still little. Elayna loves the water, just don't get her face wet! We have gone under a few times and she does not cry but wipes the water out of her eyes.

Contents of Lilia's Purse

Here are Lilia's treasures: pink purse, deck of Dora cards, flowered ring, race car from daddy, necklace, jeweled box (inside is a plastic slice of pizza), Pinkalicious bracellett, paper bracelletts, brush, metal toe ring and little toy man.
Elayna is not allowed to play with her things or the purse. Lilia will carry her purse and tell me she is going to work (daddy goes to work :) wants to be like daddy).
I wish my purse had fun stuff!

Our Awesome Babysitters!

We are so thankful that these two awesome young women are willing to come watch our girls. They have the best time playing together. We come home and find two happy girls. Thank you!

Braid in Lilia's Hair

Lilia let me fix her hair today before going to story time. We kept it simple.
We missed Miss Katie at story time today. We read books and played with the toys. Then we came home and picked some green beans for dinner and got our first cucumber! Yeah! We made Oreo cookies from a cake mix and ate lunch. We ate cookies for dessert and the girls played with daddy. He went back to work and girls are taking their nap. Wow, I think it has been a successful morning!

Happy Father's Day! 

The girls and did some secret picture taking.  I think they turned out great!  Daddy was surprised and loves his picture!

Picnic

Lilia said they were having a picnic. Lilia dumped all the food toys on the bed and Elayna climbed up to play. They will play together for a good while. Love that they play together.

Elayna is 17 Months

Sorry a little late but better than not at all.
Elayna you are a busy little girl. You love to be outside and walking/running all over. You will pick up anything. You love containers and fill them up and then empty them. You love your Eeyore and blankies. You want to be big just like your sister. Elayna, you try and play with Lilia up sharing is not your strength or hers. You take a nap in the afternoon and only sleep 1 to 2 hours and no longer than 2 hours. I am so amazed by your happy smile and beautiful eyes. We love you so much. You are saying the following words: daddy, Momma, up, out, map, back pack, and few random sounds. Your scream is very high and loud. You love your daddy very much. You give hugs and kisses all the time. You love to dance and go in circles. You know the actions to "Happy and You Know It" song. I will catch you and Lilia reading books together. We love you so much.

Dora Swim Suits and Pink Pool

They have matching Dora the Explorer swim suits. Lilia loves Dora and Elayna tolerates the show but does not care either way. They had a great time playing in the water. Lilia tried to swim but pool is too small. Elayna kept getting in and out and getting lots of grass in the pool. We watered the garden when we were done playing. Daddy helped us when he got home. We love our cute girls.

Watching an Audio Book on the Computer

We found some kids books online from the library. We watched two books. Lilia is concentrating hard and loved it. Elayna wanted to push buttons the entire time.

Waiting for Story Time

Our library has a wonderful story time. We got there a little early, Lilia played on the computer and Elayna looked at books and such (found her nose).

How to eat a cupcake....

Elayna loves eating her cupcake. She made the best faces while eating.

Elayna 16 Months

Elayna you are so loved. We enjoy watching you grow up. You are wearing 18 month clothes, size 5 shoes and size 4 diapers. You love  twirling and get dizzy. You will eat anything and love rice milk. Watching you eat with a fork and hands is entertaining. You give kisses and hugs. You love your daddy so much. You run to him when he gets home.

Two in a Tub

These two love bath time. They play and play. Lilia blows bubbles and Elayna copies her. Elayna drinks the water out of the cups. We are teaching her not to drink the water. I asked Lilia why she likes bath time. She said she likes the toys and "playing with sister."  

A Mess!

They are playing more together and making bigger messes. They usually share and do not hit each other. We clean up at the end of the day.

Dr. Lilia and Nurse Elayna

Uncle John watch out, two more doctors in the family! Grandma needed a check up. The girls love playing with their doctor kits. Aunt Annie got a check up as well a few days later. Elayna gives shots and Lilia checks ears, mouth, blood pressure, lungs (breath in and out) and heart.

Blue Car Cart

When we go grocery shopping Lilia loves getting the car cart to drive in the store. Elayna loves pushing the horn and sitting with Lilia in the car. Daddy went shopping with us. He got the blue car before Lilia asked.
