Lilia and Kelsie (the cute dog)

I wanted to see what Lilia would do when she saw a real dog. We went to book group and she got to meet Kelsie. Lilia did not know what to do. It was the same reaction as the vacuum. Just stay perfectly still. I held her hand and showed her how to pet Kelsie (dog). She was okay doing that. Kelsie licked her hand and Lilia was okay. No crying, yeah! The ladies introduced Lilia to new foods. She loved the cream dip on pretzel. She did not eat the pretzel stick just the dip. Thank you for a great evening.

Tigger for Halloween

Lilia dressed up as Tigger for Halloween. She loves to bounce. We went to Dollar General Halloween Parade. She got some treats. Uncle John stopped by. Lilia said hi to everyone and even "walked" around (hold her hands up). She fell asleep as soon as Grandma held her. Slept for 1 hour and 15 minutes. That is a record for her. Forty minutes is her max in the morning. Daddy carried little "Tigger" to the car. She lost her bounce. Her pumpkin baskets is full of goodies. She will be able to eat the animal crackers. Grandma the basket looks great. We got to actually use it this year. Happy Halloween everyone. Be safe.

8 Months Old!

Today we took Lilia to Sears for her pictures. She was so good and had a great time smiling and playing. Here she is in her chair and playing with her doll. She was fascinated by the doll eyes. We can not believe how she has grown. We love you Lilia.
Things Lilia loves to do:
Eat eggs and pasta.
Play with toys.
Take a bath and splash. When we turn the water on she moves very quickly to the tub.
She takes 2 forty-five minute naps a day.
Crawling everywhere but staying within sight of Mommy.
Playing and laughing with Daddy.
Drinking out of a sippy cup.
Pulling up on anything she can grab on to.
Bouncing/swinging in the bouncer chair. She knows how to push off the floor.
Eating big people food and using my own hands.
Learning how to expectorate. :)(think Gaston)
Sucking on fingers.

Grandpa's are FUN!

Grandpa had a good time playing with Lilia. She was laughing so cute. He took his glasses off so she could not get them. She has so much fun playing and laughing.

Daddy Time!

We sing this song for daddy when he gets home.
•••
[I'm so glad when daddy comes home.
Glad as I can be.
Clap my hands and shot for joy and climb upon his knee.
Put my arms around his neck hug him tight like this.
Pat his cheek and give him what?
A great big kiss!]
•••
Daddy gets cleaned up and then plays with Lilia. They have so much fun. She is grabbing anything she can get her hands on. She usually finds his nose and ears. She is laughing and giggling the whole time.

The Vacuum!!

Lilia does not like the vacuum. She was crawling near daddy this morning when I turned the vacuum on and she very quickly pulled up on him to be picked up. I cleaned under the refrigerator. It was covered in dust. The refrigerator should now run more efficient. Now I find her playing with the vacuum when it is off and not moving. I need to vacuum more!

Vitamin D

We have not been feeling so good at our house. Nice day today, cool and sunny. We went outside for some sunshine and get some vitamin D. This also brightened my spirits. I don't know how long you have to be outside to get vitamin D, I am sure we were not out there long enough.

1:45 A.M. till 3 A.M.

Lilia is up. I think it is gas and tummy hurts. Mylicon and Gripe water may do the trick! Crawled around and jumper time may work out the gas. We shall see. I am surprisingly awake.

Playing with Daddy!

Daddy comes home for lunch and usually eats left overs. She is starting to realize the schedule. On Saturday and Sunday it throws her off but she loves playing with Daddy and having him home. She was fascinated by his ear and hair! Notice she is kneeling. She also stood up but I missed it! I was not fast enough. I love watching them play and hear her laughing. She is so energetic. She will bounce in your arms; legs bending and arms pushing.

Peek a Boo!!

Lilia is crawling everywhere. Finding all kinds of interesting things! She is starting to pull herself up into kneeling position and then standing. She has done this with many different objects: baby walker (she got stuck), office chair, kitchen cupboards, and couch. She will even pull up on my leg to stand! We thought this picture was adorable. We were behind the couch working on a craft project. I guess she did not want to go around the couch to find us!

Playing on the Floor!

Lilia is crawling! She is so funny to watch. She makes me smile just watching her. The newspaper is not safe on the floor under the end table. She is attracted to it. She found the news paper pile at Grandma's house as well. We moved it. I am waiting to see what she notices next. We have tried to video her crawling and she stops as soon as the camera comes out and goes the other direction. She has a cute backside but not what I really wanted on the video! She loves to play and is learning about crawling over me. She is clapping her hands. Fingers are not straight. The right middle bottom tooth is coming in. She got the left middle bottom last Wednesday. Teeth are very sharp!

Playing with her New Toy!

Lilia loves her new toy. She had a great time playing with a friend. He was not sure about her. She wanted to touch him and was eyeing his pacifier! Thanks for the visit and the great conversation and her new toy!

See Spot Run!

This is an outfit my Mom made for Lilia. I wore a similar outfit when I was little. The fabric is the same! I was surprised at the baby shower to get a gift with no name. It was in a gift bag that had been made for Lilia because her name was on it. I should have recognized my Mom's handy work but I was not expecting it. I pull out this jumper and I am so surprised. I told everyone that I wore an outfit made out of this fabric when I was a child. I wanted to know who the giver was. Momma (Asher's Mother) said I should know. Then it hit me...the bag...the fabric...had to be my Mom! What a fun surprise! It is a little big for her. I had to see her wear it! Thanks Mom! I love you! My parents live out of state. I miss them a lot. I am excited to see them soon.

Napping...Still!?

Okay, I should not complain. She does this every month or so. Did she find a comfy sleeping spot? Good dream? Really tired?(She did not seem to be too tired this morning)
Question: Should I wake her or let her sleep? 4 hour nap is a long nap!

Perilla Plant and Gaenip Kimchi

I have posted about this in the past. This is my favorite kimchi! Yummy! It is not spicy hot like cabbage kimchi.
I planted the perilla seeds and have had a good time making and eating Gaenip Kimchi. Perilla is from the basil family. This is the only really harvest I had this year. My green pepper plant produced two small green peppers and I got a handful of cherrie tomatoes.
I am hoping Asher makes fried rice and kimchi and I will enjoy a yummy Korean meal. Asher does not care for Gaenip kimchi and so I do not have to share! :)

Napping

Lilia has been off her nap schedule since we went to Utah (beginning of September). She is getting back to two naps a day. Yeah!
